Xabi Alonso expressed confidence in Emiliano Buendia's ability to quickly adapt to Bayer Leverkusen following his recent loan signing from Aston Villa.
On Wednesday, Bayer Leverkusen confirmed the acquisition of Buendia on loan for the remainder of the season.
Coach Xabi Alonso shared his enthusiasm for the new addition, anticipating that the former Getafe player will have an immediate impact on the team.
"I know him well from Spain. He played top games at Norwich and also at Aston Villa," Alonso stated after Leverkusen's 2-0 victory over Sparta Prague in the Champions League.
"He comes from a high level of football, so I don't think he needs too much time to adapt. He can help us almost immediately," he added.
Buendia, a 28-year-old attacking midfielder, has recorded three goals in 20 appearances for Aston Villa this season.
