
Bayer Leverkusen has announced the contract extension of 17-year-old striker Artem Stepanov, which will keep him at the club until at least 2027.
Simon Rolfes, managing director for sport at Bayer 04, praised Stepanov's development, noting his progress in both physicality and football skills during his time at the club.
Stepanov made his senior debut in November during a 5-0 Champions League victory against RB Salzburg.
In his remarks about the contract extension, Stepanov expressed that he has "achieved a first target" by securing a professional career in Germany at a top club, emphasizing the invaluable learning opportunities available to him. He also stated his commitment to working hard and seizing his chances moving forward.
