FC Bayern Munich has confirmed the signing of Tom Bischof from TSG Hoffenheim.
The 19-year-old midfielder will join Bayern Munich on a free transfer upon the expiration of his contract with Hoffenheim in the summer. His contract with Bayern is set to run until 2029.
Bayern's sporting director, Christoph Freund, remarked, “Tom Bischof is one of the biggest German talents, who’s also attracted international interest. At the age of just 19, he’s already gained a lot of experiences in professional football, in the Bundesliga as well as in the DFB Cup and Europa League."
Freund further noted, “Tom is an ideal fit for our philosophy as a technically gifted midfielder. We’re pleased he’s decided to take his next steps at FC Bayern. Tom has all the attributes to establish himself at the highest level.”
This season, Bischof has made his mark in Hoffenheim's starting line-up, scoring twice and providing three assists in 24 appearances.
Other clubs, including RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt, had also shown interest in acquiring Bischof.
