Mainz Shocks Bayern in 15:30 Kickoffs; Leverkusen and Gladbach Secure Victories Amid Disturbances in Union-Bochum Match

FC Bayern Munich's lead at the Bundesliga summit was reduced following a surprising 2-1 defeat to Mainz, while Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2-0 victory over FC Augsburg, narrowing the gap to the leaders.

Mainz shocked the league with their win against Bayern Munich on Matchday 14. The match began with both teams creating chances, but it was Mainz who took the lead just before halftime. After a defensive error from Bayern's Kim Min-Jae, substitute Armindo Sieb assisted Jae-Sung Lee, who scored the first goal. Lee then doubled the lead in the 61st minute with a well-executed play. Bayern managed to score a consolation goal through Leroy Sané late in the match, but Mainz held on for the victory.

In the match between Augsburg and Leverkusen, the visitors took an early lead in the 14th minute with a goal from Martin Terrier, assisted by Granit Xhaka. Augsburg had a goal disallowed by VAR before Leverkusen extended their lead with a strike from Florian Wirtz. Despite Augsburg's attempts to respond, they could not find the net, and Leverkusen secured the win, reducing the gap to Bayern Munich to four points.

Borussia Mönchengladbach achieved a convincing 4-1 victory over Holstein Kiel. Tim Kleindienst opened the scoring in the first minute, and Gladbach continued to dominate, with goals from Robin Hack and Alasane Plèa. Kiel managed to score a stunning goal from Armin Gigović but could not mount a comeback as Gladbach sealed the win with a late goal from Plèa.

In a separate match, play was halted between Union Berlin and VfL Bochum due to an incident involving Union fans and Bochum's goalkeeper, Patrick Drewes. Union players returned to the pitch as they awaited Bochum's return, with further updates expected after the match.
