Pochettino’s first official test with USMNT: St. Louis showdown

Here we go. The new head coach of the US Men's National Team, Mauricio Pochettino, will lead the team in their first competitive match on November 18. The match will be in CITYPark for the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal. The team has a positive history at the St. Louis stadium, having won their last two competitions there. Pochettino's goal is to instill a winning mentality in the USMNT as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The opponent for the November Nations League game will be determined based on the top-four teams in the CONCACAF ranking at the end of the October international window. Pochettino aims to continue the USMNT's success in the Nations League by going for a fourth consecutive title. However, he emphasizes that he prefers to build genuine connections with fans and players rather than making symbolic gestures like kissing the badge. The team will have friendly matches against Panama and Mexico to prepare, with players like Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie in good form. Pochettino is known for motivating players, especially young talents, to bring out their best performance.
