Man Utd open talks with Chelsea over swap deal

Manchester United have initiated discussions with Chelsea about potentially exchanging Jadon Sancho for Raheem Sterling, as reported by The Telegraph. The Red Devils are intent on selling Sancho before the transfer deadline and are favoring a permanent transfer for the English player. Chelsea have shown interest in the 24-year-old and it's been stated that United's sporting director, Dan Ashworth, has reached out to them. Ashworth has confirmed United's interest in Sterling, but the club is only willing to acquire him as part of a deal for Sancho. As a result, Chelsea will need to pay an additional transfer fee for Sterling. Additionally, the success of the swap deal may hinge on both Sancho and Sterling agreeing to significant salary cuts. United's summer transfer window has been active, with the signings of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui. Manuel Ugarte is expected to join the team within the next 24 hours. Acquiring Sterling could potentially cap off a successful window for the club.
