Arsenal seem to have moved closer to securing a deal for Raheem Sterling, as they have reportedly reached an agreement with the Chelsea winger for a surprising transfer to the Emirates Stadium on deadline day. Multiple sources indicate that Sterling has accepted a significantly reduced package to facilitate the move, and now the only remaining step is for Chelsea to agree on a fee for Jadon Sancho and/or Victor Osimhen as a replacement forward. On what is expected to be a hectic deadline day, Arsenal is set to bring Sterling to North London on a one-year loan deal, with the club covering approximately 60 percent of Sterling's reported £300,000 per week salary. Additionally, Arsenal will pay a small fee to Chelsea, believed to be around £2 million. Chelsea has been working feverishly to finalize at least one deal before the transfer window closes, with Jadon Sancho reportedly being the preferred player by Enzo Maresca, while Victor Osimhen is also apparently being considered for a move to England. Osimhen has expressed a desire to remain in Europe and will reject any transfer to Saudi Arabia, making a move to Chelsea very likely before the transfer window closes at 11pm UK time. Sancho has reportedly traveled to London with his agent to discuss a potential loan move to Chelsea, as Manchester United seems to have decided to allow the England international to leave in search of regular first-team football. Sancho had a well-publicized falling out with Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag last season and concluded the season on loan with Borussia Dortmund, who were finalists in the Champions League. Both Sancho and Osimhen could join Chelsea, but it is possible that only one of them will be transferred before the close of business. Sterling has previously worked with Mikel Arteta, the current Arsenal manager, as Arteta was an assistant manager at Manchester City during Sterling's time at the Etihad. Sterling and Arteta are reported to have an excellent working relationship, and by signing Raheem, Arsenal will add an important rotation option to Bukayo Saka.
