Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Burkina Faso international Nasser Djiga from Red Star Belgrade in a transfer move. The 21-year-old, who recently joined the Serbian side, may be leaving soon as the Gunners have made contact with the club and are rumored to be preparing an offer of £19 million. Djiga previously played for Vitesse Arnhem in the Netherlands before moving to FC Basel in 2021. He had loan spells at Nimes and Red Star Belgrade before the latter made his transfer permanent. Djiga has represented his country five times, scoring one goal. Red Star outbid several European clubs to acquire the defender for a fee of approximately £4.5 million. Djiga primarily plays as a centre-back but has also featured as a right-back on occasion. It is anticipated that he would serve as a backup to William Saliba and Gabriel in the future. If a deal is reached next week, Djiga would be Arsenal's first signing of the summer.
