Bournemouth eyeing deal for outgoing Liverpool star

Bournemouth is keen on acquiring Liverpool center-back Joel Matip once his contract with the Reds expires at the end of June. Despite being a crucial player for Liverpool, the club has chosen not to retain him. Matip will become a free agent in July, and there are reports suggesting that Bournemouth may offer him a swift return to the Premier League. With the impending departure of Lloyd Kelly, Bournemouth is seeking an experienced replacement, and Matip fits the bill. Whether he will accept the offer remains to be seen. Bournemouth had a slow start to the previous season under manager Andoni Iraola but significantly improved before the New Year. They finished 12th in the Premier League with 48 points, their best performance in a top-flight campaign. The focus now shifts to aiming for a top-half finish in the upcoming season.
